Can ANYONE believe that Dumbledore is dead? At least Harry now knows how to defeat Voldermort, thanks to Dumbledore. The problem is that know he needs figure out who RAB is and find the other Horcuxes. I do believe that this is one of the best books JK has written.

I think RAB could be Regulus Black, Sirius's Brother. I have found at least 3 references to him in books 5+6....

You may be right...but who ever thought that Snape could be the half-blood prince? I mean...I don't think anyone ever saw that coming, or saw Dumbledore dying. Who could tell? What did you thin of the Horcruxes?

gahh, I just want to beat Snape with a stick and yell, "You were supposed to be cool! You were supposed to be cool!!" he was one of my guesses for the Half Blood Prince because he was the Potions master for a long time, but then I thought: he really just wanted to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts, not Potions. plus, the book was 50 years old. how does Snape being the Half Blood Prince fit in with that?
my favorite part in the entire book, though, is when Malfoy cries. he is 100% my favorite character.

The was the best book ever!!! But it made me really sad that Dumbledore died Who would have thought that that would happen? Not me! But I have no idea who RAB is, but it could be Regulus Black. We might not even find out who it is.

I think that Dumbledore planned his death. This way, Snape doesn't break the Unbreakable Oath, and can carry on spying for the Order. When Dumbledore pleads with Snape, he is pleading for him to do what must be done, and the hate Snape shows on his face is hate at himself for having to kill Dumbledore. My best guess, anyway.
It was a narrative necessity for Dumbledore to die - now Harry has to face the final challenge alone, like in Star Wars. No true coming-of-age hero does it with his mentor behind him, making sure that he doesn't fail.
Harry's rejection of Ginny annoyed me, just like it did in Spider-Man. Love is the weapon he needs against Voldemort, and he's distancing himself from those he loves and who love him - bad idea.

I agree with everything you said. You have very good theorys, Cicero.
(and you Roleplay well....)

Thanks - I can't claim total credit, of course, many other people think the same thing, but I think that it's possible as Dumbledore was already weak from the cursed ring, and he kept on repeating that Harry was more important. I did consider whether Dumbledore and Snape had faked the death - Snape could have just said the Killing Curse, but as his heart wasn't in it it wouldn't have worked. A quick Expelliarmus, said mentally, would have blown Dumbledore out of the window, giving him time to take a Draught of Living Death to appear dead. Then, in the next book, Gandalf Dumbledore can come back, and help The Fellowship The Order defeat the Uruk Hai Death Eaters. That does seem like a Deus ex Machina, though. Maybe Dumbledore can just help through his portrait.
The tricky thing in the next book will not be convincing the reader that Snape is good, but convincing Harry. As far as he is concerned, Snape has had a hand in killing his parents, Sirius and now Dumbledore.

Gideon - maybe it's someone we haven't met yet. perhaps that's the point. why would JKR make it so easy to guess?
haha, now now, LOTR and HP are completely different! ... sort of. =P I'm a fan of both, so, meh
I think Dumbledore really is dead. just like Sirius. both necessary, I guess. :/
grr, it will also be tricky to convince people like me that Snape is good. I'm not too fond of him right now. though Draco is still my favorite. hm, wonder how that works? it's also going to be really tricky for JKR to wrap everything up in just one more book. Harry has to find four pieces of soul still, AND kill Voldemort. plus, it's going to be weird without the setting being Hogwarts. I wonder if it will still open for their seventh year?
I hope the seventh book has a lot about Draco in it. that's why I really like this one. yay for crying!Draco! alright, I'm shutting up now.
